Back in 2018-19, India won their first ever Test series on Australian soil under the leadership of Virat Kohli. Then in 2020-21, India repeated the scenario. Then skipper Virat Kohli left after the opening Test in Adelaide, where India were bowled out for 36 in their second innings. Under Ajinkya Rahane, India came up trumps in Melbourne and Brisbane to win the series 2-1 where Rishabh Pant played an innings of lifetime at The Gabba.

350 – Virat Kohli needs 350 runs more to join an elite club where Sachin Tendulkar is at the top. Virat Kohli will be the third-highest run-scorer in international cricket surpassing Ricky Ponting. Kumar Sangakkara are second on the list.

444 – Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal needs 444 runs to claim the spot of India’s leading run-scorer in a calendar year. Sachin Tendulkar holds the record with 1562 runs back in 2010.

15 – Yashasvi Jaiswal needs 15 runs to become the Indian left-handed batter with most Test runs in a calendar year. Gautam Gambhir holds the record with 1134 runs back in 2008.

4 –  Rohit Sharma is 4 sixes away to become India’s highest six-hitter in Tests. Virender Sehwag is on top with 91 sixes.

1 – Ravichandran Ashwin has the chance to be the fastest Indian to 550 Test wickets. Anil Kumble reached the landmark in 115 Tests. Overall, Muttiah Muralitharan holds the record in 94 Tests.

27 – Jasprit Bumrah needs 27 wickets to complete 200 wickets in Test cricket and become the sixth Indian pacer to reach the landmark. The others are Kapil Dev, Ishant Sharma, Zaheer Khan, Javagal Srinath and Mohammed Shami.

1 – Jasprit Bumrah has the chance to become the fastest Indian pacer to 200 Test wickets. Kapil Dev holds the record after he got there in his 50th Test back in 1983.

13 – R Ashwin needs 13 wickets to become India’s highest wicket-taker in Tests on Australian soil. Kapil Dev holds the record with 51 scalps from 11 Tests. Ashwin also needs 11 wickets to become the Indian spinner with most Test wickets in Aus. Anil Kumble holds the record with 49 wickets from 10 Tests.

20 – Jasprit Bumrah needs 20 wickets to become India’s highest wicket-taker in Tests on Australian soil.
