Xtra Time Web Desk: India's star batter KL Rahul was acquired by Delhi Capitals for a hefty ₹14 crore during the IPL 2025 Mega Auction on Sunday. However, Rahul’s first interaction with his new franchise boss, Parth Jindal, had a playful twist—it wasn’t about cricket but football.

Jindal, co-owner of Delhi Capitals, also manages JSW Group, which owns the Indian Super League (ISL) team Bengaluru FC. In an Instagram post, Rahul tagged Jindal alongside a clip from the recent Perth Test, where he showcased his football skills by juggling a Kookaburra ball. Rahul humorously asked, “@parthjindal, Got an opening at Bengaluru FC?”

While many anticipated Rahul’s return to his home-based Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals outbid competitors to secure the 32-year-old’s services. Known for his versatility at the top order, Rahul is a strong contender for the team’s captaincy.

Parth Jindal expressed excitement over Rahul’s acquisition, emphasizing their strong rapport. “I spoke to KL but haven’t met him yet. I know him very well personally. Captaincy decisions will depend on what the coaching staff and co-owner Kiran Grandhi decide,” Jindal stated.

Rahul's recent cricketing exploits also turned heads. In India’s dominant 295-run win at Perth, he demonstrated exceptional technique and contributed to a record 201-run opening partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second innings.

In addition to owning Delhi Capitals and Bengaluru FC, JSW Group has stakes in various sports franchises, including Pretoria Capitals (SA20), Dubai Capitals (ILT20), Haryana Steelers (Pro Kabaddi League), and Soorma HC (Hockey India League).
