Xtra Time Web Desk: Ravindra Jadeja is truly India’s rescue man in crucial moments. The all-rounder once again saved India in challenging conditions, scoring a gritty fifty on Day 4 of the third Test against Australia in Brisbane, as he flaunted his signature sword celebration once again.

It is important to note that Jadeja was left out of the Indian XI for the first two Tests in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, with India opting for Washington Sundar and R Ashwin as their lone spinners in Perth and Adelaide. However, he made a strong comeback in Brisbane, proving his capabilities after walking in to bat at a precarious 74 for 5 following captain Rohit Sharma's dismissal for 10 early in the day. The situation was indeed critical, considering India’s chances of making it to the World Test Championship final. Jadeja delivered a steady and composed innings to stabilize India.

Former head coach Ravi Shastri advised Jadeja to take care of his left wrist, emphasizing that the all-rounder might play a significant role with the ball for India in the remainder of the series.

Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara also praised

Jadeja while speaking on Star Sports, saying, "That's something that he has worked on. Look at that sweep shot. He doesn’t normally play sweeps that much. His batting has improved a lot in the last 3-5 years. He has been batting well across formats. Probably, he is one of the best batters against spin bowling. The way he has negotiated Nathan Lyon has been brilliant. He’s got his bat in front of his pad, and he’s been decisive with his footwork."

He added, "You can rely on him as a batter."
