Xtra Time Web Desk: It has been few hours of India's favourite Ravichandran Ashwin being retired from all format international cricket. The social media flooded him in heartwarming wishes now he received an emotional welcome at his residence in Chennai. 

Ashwin's fans, family and well-wishers gathered to celebrate his prolonged career and milestones and the lens got its best frame when his father greeted him with a warm embrace and a kiss while fans cheering loud with showering flowers as drums played loudly outside their home. 

Ashwin's career is nothing less than any dream.  Debuting in 2011 against the West Indies, where he quickly established in India’s Test setup. Over 106 Tests, Ashwin took 537 wickets at an impressive average of 24.00 and an economy rate of 2.83 enlisting his name as one of cricket's greatest spinners.

Returning home on December 19, the veteran made a recap of his career and decision. Speaking to reporters, Ashwin revealed he plans to continue his IPL career with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for as long as he feels capable. At the 2025 IPL mega auction, Ashwin secured a heartwarming return to his hometown franchise, CSK, for a whopping Rs 9.25 crore. 

He stated, "It's emotional for a lot of people. It will be emotional, maybe it will sink in. But for me, it's a great sense of relief and satisfaction."
He further added, "I am going to play for CSK and don't be surprised if I try and aspire to play for as long as I can. I don't think Ashwin the cricketer is done, I think Ashwin the Indian cricketer has probably called it time. That's it."

It is indeed a loss for India but debuting and being retired after serving the nation on field is just similar to sun rising at morning and setting after enlighting the world. India will miss his service but fans will see him back in yellow.
