BGT 2024-25: Kohli eyes milestone at MCG, set to surpass Tendulkar as India’s top test scorer

Kohli has a golden opportunity to surpass Sachin Tendulkar and become India’s leading Test run-scorer at the iconic venue.
Tendulkar currently tops the chart with 449 runs from five matches at an average of 44.90, including one century and three fifties. Kohli, positioned third, has scored 316 runs in three Tests at an impressive average of 52.66, with a career-best 169 at the venue. Ajinkya Rahane is second with 369 runs in three games at an average of 73.80, including two centuries.

However, Kohli has struggled for consistency in other games. In the Day-Night Test at Adelaide Oval, he could only manage scores of seven and 11. His struggles continued at The Gabba, where he fell for just seven while attempting a drive outside the off-stump.
