BGT 2024-25: KL Rahul commends Ravindra Jadeja for match-changing 77 at Gabba
Xtra Time Web Desk: KL Rahul praised Ravindra Jadeja for his gritty 77-run knock on Day 4 of the 3rd Test between Australia and India at The Gabba. India ended the day at 252/9, successfully avoiding the follow-on, thanks to significant contributions from Rahul, Jadeja, Akash Deep, and Jasprit Bumrah.
Rahul highlighted that Jadeja's batting often doesn’t receive the recognition it deserves compared to his bowling. "He was brilliant today. He has been brilliant, batting down the order for many, many years. That's what we expect of Jadeja, and he has proven that he can do that. Really happy that I could stitch a partnership with him – it was really needed at that stage. And then he went on to score 70 runs with the tail. It was really crucial. Every run was important for us to get past that follow-on first and see how many we could put on the board. He made that possible," Rahul said during the press conference.

Jadeja walked in at a precarious 74/5 and formed a vital 67-run partnership with Rahul. He then continued to build crucial partnerships with the lower order, including a 73-run stand with Nitish Reddy.
Rahul also praised Jadeja's consistency, noting that this was the sixth instance since 2023 where Jadeja had faced over 100 deliveries. He acknowledged the all-rounder's solid technique and praised his ability to perform under pressure.

"Often it's only Jadeja's bowling that's spoken about, but I think he has been a great performer with the bat. He has a solid technique. I enjoy batting with him, I enjoy watching him play. I enjoy watching him in training. He has a solid game plan. Really happy he could come in and do the job for the team," Rahul said.
He further emphasized Jadeja’s experience, stating, "He is a very experienced guy, he has played there for so many years. So, he understands what he needs to do and perform and get runs for the team."
