Xtra Time Web Desk: Legendary Shane Warne was paid a fitting tribute on the first day of the ongoing first test between England and New Zealand at Lords on Thursday. The entire stadium stood up to applaud for 23 seconds during the 23rd over.

Players from both sides, coaches and spectators inside Lord’s rose as one to salute the legendary leg spinner with 23 seconds of applause in the first session of England’s Test match against New Zealand.  In the 23rd over at the home of English cricket, everyone rose in unison to applaud Warne and there was footage of his great moments played on the big screen.

Warne, who wore the number 23 during his career, died at the age of 52 from a suspected heart attack while on holiday in Thailand back in March. His passing left the cricketing world in mourning and resonated beyond the sport that he transcended as not only a great player, but beloved entertainer.
