XtraTime Web Desk: Barcelona legend Lionel Messi started sprinting on Saturday at Camp Nou, raising hopes of getting fit ahead of Mallorca clash next week. The Barcelona captain trained alone under the watchful eyes of Quique Setien on the Camp Nou pitch.

It comes as a huge relief for the Catalan club as Messi was out on the pitch, after having missed training towards the end of the week with a minor quadriceps injury. The No.10 didn’t work with the rest of his teammates and instead trained away from the main group, but this was still a positive step forward for the Blaugrana. It is expected that Messi can return to group work on Monday, assuming he doesn’t suffer any setbacks over the weekend.

Barcelona will take on Real Mallorca away from home next weekend, when La Liga action resumes after the forced break due to coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile the Spanish club received a huge boost with the news that Luis Suarez has been declared fit to take part in Mallorca game. The club confirmed the news in its official website. The Uruguayan has been out of action since January, when he underwent a knee surgery. It looked like he will have to miss out the rest of the season.
