According to sources , Van Gaal’s three year contract with United is set to be cut short .The former Chelsea manager will be offered a whopping £15 million , for a three-year deal, kicking in after the 2015-16 season ends.
According to report by the Daily Mirror, the two parties have settled on personal terms, with Mourinho keen to make some major changes. The two-time Champions League-winning head coach apparently wishes to work alongside a director of football, with Atletico Madrid sporting director Andrea Berta earmarked to join him in Manchester.
Berta, who is believed to be connected to Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes, would take responsibility for negotiating the recruitment of player, which is currently the remit of executive vicechairman Ed Woodward.
With Mourinho joining the Red Devils , Premier League fans are likely to witness the rekindling of the old rivalry between Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola from next season onwards.
