ISL: Kerala Blasters close in on appointing former Man City coach

Internet Desk: ISL franchisee co-owned by Sachin Tendulkar, Kerala Blasters are in advanced talks with former Manchester City manager Steve Coppell.

The 60-year-old has over 30 years of coaching experience which has included stints at Crystal Palace, Reading amongst other clubs.

As a player, he played over 300 games for Manchester United and even represented England on 42 occasions.

The Kochi-based franchise were set to sign former Levante managerJuan Ignacio Martinez but the deal fell through at the last minute. Thereafter, the club turned their attention to David James but the latter didn’t wish to return to India.

It is reliably learnt that the English manager is expected to be in India next week wherein he shall hold discussion with the club owners before penning an year long deal.
