Xtra Time Web Desk : SC East Bengal on Wednesday clinched their first win of this season’s Indian Super League as they sealed a 2-1 victory over FC Goa in their 12th match of the season.

The first half was started in a dominant fashion by FC Goa as they played their usual possessional football until a huge mistake from Edu Bedia led to SC East Bengal’s first goal of the match, courtesy of Naorem Mahesh finish on the 9 minute mark. The Gaurs however continued to play attacking football until they equalised through Alberto Noguera on the 38th minute, only to stay for four minutes as the Red and Gold regained their lead through Naorem Mahesh once again as part of a mistake from Goa’s defense on the 42nd minute.

The second half saw more intense play from the home side, as they came all guns blazing at the Torchbearers with attacking substitutions. Piling up shots upon shots, Derek Pereira’s team came close to equalising in the match but couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities as East Bengal’s stern defense led by Adil Khan came to the party. The match however ended in a 2-1 win for the Red and Gold, as they registered their first win of the season.

SC East Bengal however still remain at the 10th place in the league table after this win with 9 points in 12 matches.
