Xtra Time Web Desk : It was quite a dominating football played by the defending champions as Mumbai City FC beat ATK Mohun Bagan 5-1 in the 2021-22 Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Wednesday night (1 November 2021).

Vikram Pratap Singh (4’, 25’), Igor Angulo (38’), Mourtada Fall (47’), Bipin Singh (52’) scored for the title-holders. Where as David Williams (60’) came off the bench to score the only goal for the Mariners.

Antonio Lopez Habas went in with the same set of players that won the Kolkata derby quite comfortably. On the other hand Mumbai City FC, who suffered a 3-1 loss against Hyderabad FC in their last match, made two changes. Mandar Rao Dessai started at left back and Vikram on the right wing.

The wave of attacks from the Defending Champion were relentless. The ATKMB defence had no answers and were just terribly busted by the quality attacking football played by the opponents.

This win takes Mumbai City FC into the top spot of the points table and puts ATK MohunBagan into the fourth place.
