ISL 2021-22 : Odisha FC restricts ATK Mohun Bagan to a 1-1 draw in an eventful match

Xtra Time Web Desk : ATK Mohun Bagan’s match against Odisha FC ended in a 1-1 draw, in what was an injury laden eventful game. Both the goals came inside the first 10 minutes, although the entire clash saw end to end football from both sides.

The match started off in a very lively manner, where the two team were playing on the field with different objectives. It was however the underdogs Odisha, who went ahead against their opponents on the 5 minute mark through R Tlang which although lasted for only over 2 minutes as the Mariners’ star midfielder Joni Kauko scored the equaliser through a penalty.

The first half after this had even more drama as the Green and Maroon shot stopper Amrinder Singh saved Javi’s penalty to deny Odisha the lead.

The second half however saw both the teams come all guns blazing at each other, with Juan Ferrando’s team having the bulk of the possession, but without any final fruit. Star Mariners striker Roy Krishna too made a substitute appearance but couldn’t have that usual impact upon the match and ended the game being sent off with a red card.

There were also injuries to key players such as Liston Colaco and Javi which was one of the major reasons behind the match ending at 1-1 scoreline.
