Xtra Time Web Desk : ATK Mohun Bagan on Monday suffered a heart breaking 1-0 loss to table toppers Jamshedpur FC, to lose the league shield to their opponents.
Juan Ferrando’s team were the attacking side from the start of the match with maximum hold of the ball, with Jamshedpur playing counter attacking football in answer to their opponents’ game.
The first half though was goalless, but was an exciting affair between two top teams creating quite a lot of opportunities, but ultimately failing to capitalize upon them.
In the second half however, the Mariners came all guns blazing at their opponents only to concede at the 56 minute mark through Ritwik Das. The boy from Bengal made sure to put his team 1-0 ahead with a clinical finish.
After faltering behind around the hour mark, the Green and Maroon further gave it their all to attack at a sturdy Jamshedpur defense, only to come close to the goal, but not being able to capitalize or pounce upon the opportunities.
The match, thus ended 1-0 in favour of Jamshedpur which helped them clinch their maiden Indian Super League shield.
