Xtra Time Web Desk: ATK Mohun Bagan’s star Fijian striker Roy Krishna has reached Goa on Saturday. The 32 year old shared a post on his social media platforms confirming his arrival in India. He tweeted, “Namaste India, it’s been so long. Can’t officially start training yet but I’m happy to finally arrive in Goa. Two weeks of mandatory quarantine to go before I can get back to business.” #atkmbfamily #Eksathe

The Fijian striker was in magnificent form during ISL 2019-20, scoring 15 goals and providing six assists for ATK as they went on to clinch their third league title. He developed a strong understanding with David Williams up front and was one of the club’s go-to players whenever the chips were down.

Meanwhile, last minute preparations are in full swing at Mohun Bagan club ground for Sunday’s I League handover ceremony. The I league champions will be officially handed over the I League Trophy in a glittering event at a city hotel in the presence of Shri Aroop Biswas, Hon’ble Minister of PWD, Youth Services and I League CEO Sunando Dhar. The club officials along with other fan clubs will unfurl a grand tifo with an I League trophy replica at the club ground on Sunday. The city’s iconic Howrah Bridge will be illuminated with green and maroon lights. Three huge inflated balloons with the club colours and I league replica printed on it was floated at three major locations on Saturday.

Post the presentation ceremony a procession has been organized from the hotel to the club tent. The coveted trophy would be put into a glass cascade in an open Jeep to bring it to the club.

Since, most of the coaches and players will not be able to join the program physically due to the current pandemic scenario and commitments with their respective teams, we have organised to take them on a live Zoom call so they can be part of the event virtually and enjoy the memorable moment and feel a part of the same.

The event had to be shifted from the club tent as planned earlier to a closed confined place adhering to the stringent guidelines and COVID-19 protocols laid down by the Central and State Government.
