Do you remember Hardik Pandya’s performance against Pakistan in the Asia Cup? Or his bhangra dance after winning against Australia? Everyone seems to have forgotten about Team India’s star all-rounder. Have you all forgotten his contributions wearing the Indian jersey? These questions have arisen because of the humiliations which Hardik is receiving every moment.

But what crime has Hardik committed? What is his actual fault? Is being the captain of Mumbai Indians in this year’s IPL is his crime? The trolling and booing are gradually increasing both on and off the field for Hardik, making it more difficult for him to concentrate on his work. Social media has also been filled with post of ego clashes between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya.

Hardik’s wife Natasa Stankovic has also being attacked on social media. Hardik’s mother has also being insulted. Which is really shameful. This whole issue has taken such a huge form that it hasn’t spared anyone associated with the Indian team, past or present. Naturally, everyone has stood by Hardik. They all have protested against this inhumanity.

Few days ago, Sourav Ganguly, former Team India captain stood beside Hardik.  He said, “I don’t think they should boo Hardik Pandya. It’s not correct.” Not just Sourav, Rohit and Ravichandran Ashwin had also expressed their opinions earlier. Now, Virat Kohli has also added his name to this list. He intervened the fans, requesting them to change their treatment for the Mumbai skipper.

However, the main question is, will the problems be solved even after that? Don’t think anyone will find sincere salvation is this digital world. In the age of the internet, love seems to have diminished, respect for each other has not increased, rather hatred has grown. And sincere people are victims of that hatred.

Moreover, Hardik is regularly becoming a victim of that hatred. Even though several well-wishers stood by him, it doesn’t seem he’ll find salvation in this age of social media. And this is very unfortunate for all of us.
