The release of the residual schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 brings significant clarity and excitement for cricket fans. Here’s a summary of the key points from the schedule:

All Matches in India: Unlike previous speculations, all 74 matches of IPL 2024 will be held within India. This decision is likely to please domestic fans and players alike.

Key Venues: The business end of the competition will take place in Ahmedabad and Chennai. Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will be hosted at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 21 and 22, respectively. Qualifier 2 and the final will be held at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on May 24 and 26, respectively.

Schedule Overview: The first 21 games of the IPL were already announced, and now the remaining schedule has been released. The second part of the tournament begins on April 8, with Chennai Super Kings facing Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

Denial of Overseas Matches: BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has denied the possibility of holding matches abroad, dispelling earlier speculations.

Security Concerns: The BCCI has taken into account security concerns due to the General Elections in India, scheduled from April 19 to June 1, with counting on June 4. They’ve managed to avoid overlaps with election dates while maintaining the home and away format.

Matches in Different Centre’s: The schedule includes matches at various centres across India. Dharamsala will host a couple of home games for Punjab Kings on May 5 and May 9. Guwahati will also host two matches, one each for Rajasthan Royals against Punjab Kings on May 15 and Kolkata Knight Riders on May 19, which is the last match of the league phase.

Play-offs: Play-offs begin on May 21, following a one-day break on May 20.
