IPL 2024 auction: Rishabh Pant to be at the auction table for Delhi Capitals in Dubai

Xtra Time Web Desk: Rishabh Pant is all set to attend the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in Dubai on December 19. While it’s uncertain whether Pant will actively participate by raising the paddle, a Delhi Capitals ownership group member confirmed his presence at the auction. Furthermore, Pant is expected to lead the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024, with full fitness anticipated by the end of February. The IPL is scheduled to commence in the last week of March, likely on March 22.

At 25, Pant is poised to be the first reigning captain actively involved in a live IPL auction. Coach Ricky Ponting, Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly along with Pant, will represent the Delhi Capitals at the auction table. Pant played a role in planning the team for the auction, actively participating in discussions with coach Ponting.

Gautam Gambhir, recently appointed as a mentor for the Kolkata Knight Riders, has also arrived in Dubai and will be present at the Knight Riders’ auction table. Other notable attendees include Akash Ambani representing Mumbai Indians and Ness Wadia from Punjab Kings. Jay Mehta, owner of the Knight Riders, is also in Dubai, with most franchise owners expected to attend the event.
