IPL 2023: RCB sign Parnell, Vijaykumar as replacement players for Topley and Patidar

Xtra Time Web Desk: Royal Challengers Bangalore has signed Proteas left arm fast bowler Wayne Parnell and Karnataka medium pacer Vyshak Vijaykumar. They replaced Reece Topley and Rajat Patidar, who were both ruled out due to injuries. The England fast bowler dislocated his shoulder while Patidar has injured his heel.  

This is not the first time Parnell will be playing in the cash rich league. He had earlier represented Pune Warriors and Delhi Daredevils in IPL. The left armer played 26 games in IPL till date. He last played in IPL in 2014.

26-year-old Vyshak on the other hand, has not featured in the IPL previously. He has been rewarded for his good showing in domestic cricket for Karnataka.  He picked up 10 wickets in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 games at an economy of 6.31. He was also the joint-highest wicket-taker for Karnataka in Ranji Trophy this season.  He took 31 wickets from 8 games at an average of 24.58.
