Xtra Time Web Desk: The speculation around MS Dhoni’s retirement from cricket is not expected to end anytime soon. There has been talks about MS Dhoni’s future before the IPL 2023 season started. Former Chennai Super Kings teammate of Dhoni, in an interview with Jio Cinema shared some light what exactly his plans are after this season.
Raina revealed the exact words of the legend on his retirement. Raina said that Dhoni has made a specific promise to himself about the time he will choose to retire.
“Main trophy jeetke ek saal aur khelunga (After winning the trophy, I will play one more year),” Raina said on Jio Cinema.
The Chennai Super Kings captain laughed it away when former cricketer turned commentator Danny Morrison asked him how he is enjoying his swansong tour which is his last. According to Dhoni, he never said it would be his last season.
“Clearly this wonderful swansong tour, your last, how are you enjoying it?” Danny Morrison asked Dhoni
The CSK skipper wasted no time with his reply, saying, “Well you’ve decided it’s my last.”
Much to joy of the fans, Morrison immediately started announcing to the crowd that Dhoni will continue to play next season, saying, “He is coming back to play next year.”
