Xtra Time Web Desk: In a thrilling IPL 2023 encounter at the Wankhede Stadium, Punjab Kings managed to beat Mumbai Indians by 13 runs, thanks to an outstanding final over from left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh. Arshdeep held his nerve and conceded just two runs while taking two crucial wickets in the last over, which helped Punjab clinch a win that seemed improbable at one point. Suryakumar Yadav (57 off 26) and Cameron Green (67 off 43) had almost led MI to their first successful 200-run chase at the Wankhede Stadium with their impressive knocks, but Arshdeep’s final over heroics proved too much for them.

Earlier, Punjab Kings had posted a massive total of 214/8, thanks to a superb knock of 55 runs off 29 balls by Sam Curran and a valuable partnership of 92 runs for the eighth wicket between Curran and Harpreet Bhatia, who scored 41 runs off 28 balls. After getting off to a strong start, Punjab’s middle order struggled, but Curran, Bhatia, and Jitesh Sharma combined to add 117 runs in the next seven overs to propel their team to a mammoth total.

Mumbai Indians bowlers failed to contain Punjab’s middle order and were eventually outplayed by their opponents. The win propelled Punjab Kings to the fourth spot in the IPL 2023 standings, while Mumbai Indians slipped to the seventh spot.
