IPL 2022: Trevor Bayliss steps down as Head Coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad; linked with this franchise

Xtra Time Web Desk: Australian Trevor Bayliss has stepped down as the Head Coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of IPL 2022. According to sources, the former SRH coach is set to join RPS Group-owned Lucknow franchise.

Bayliss was appointed as the Head Coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad immediately after England won the ODI World Cup in 2019 under him. He also coached Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to IPL titles in 2012 & 2014. He also coached Sydney Sixers which lifted the Big Bash League (BBL) title in 2011-12.  

Bayliss has been regarded as a successful coach. He was the Coach of Sri Lankan team which were the runners up in 2011 ODI World Cup.

Bayliss joins compatriot David Warner who had also parted ways with the Orange Army. The Hyderabad based franchise will be without mentor VVS Laxman as well in the upcoming season as the former India cricketer is appointed the Director of National Cricket Academy.

Meanwhile Punjab Kings have announced that assistant coach Andy Flower parted ways with the team, bringing to an end his two-year association. Like Bayliss, Flower is also expected to be linked with one of the new franchises (Lucknow and Ahmedabad).
