Xtra Time Web Desk : A new look Rajasthan Royals on Saturday emerged as the winners over Mumbai Indians in their second match of the Indian Premier League, courtesy of their 23 run victory over the five time champions at the DY Patil stadium, Mumbai.

Being put into bat, after opponent skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss, the Sanju Samson led Rajasthan went off to a flyer as explosive opener Jos Buttler fired shots all round the corner to give his team a confident start.

Buttler however, continued his brilliant form with the bat and went on to score a superb 100 off 66 balls before getting dismissed to a Jasprit Bumrah yorker. The star English batter also got some quality support from the other side as skipper Samson scored a steady 30 followed by Hetmyer stormy innings of 35.

Coming on to bat second, Rajasthan bowlers bowled brilliantly to pluck the wickets of Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma and youngster Anmolpreet Singh within the first 5 overs. It was then a steady 81 run partnership between Ishan Kishan (54) and Tilak Verma which at one stage made the Indians look like the possible winners of the clash.

But soon, the Rajasthan bowlers made their way back into the game by picking up quick wickets at regular intervals and restricted Pollard (22) to an unlikely quiet innings to seal the match by 23 runs in the end.
