IPL 2021: Sunrisers Hyderabad looks well balanced on paper – SWOT analysis

Xtra Time Web Desk: Sunrisers Hyderabad has been one of the most consistent teams in Indian Premier League. The franchise, in its brief existence has already won a title in 2016 apart from making it to the playoffs more than once. The side led by David Warner looks solid on paper and is definitely favorites to make it to the playoffs. The franchise retained their core group from last season and added a few back up options. The biggest addition to the Orange Army this season has been England white ball opener Jason Roy. After remaining unsold in the mini auctions, the English cricketer was brought by SRH for a replacement of Australian all rounder Mitchell Marsh who pulled himself out of IPL 2021 citing personal reasons. Here is a complete SWOT Analysis of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad for IPL 2021.

Strengths:

The Sunrisers Hyderabad boasts of one of the most destructive top-order lineups in IPL 2021. The top three has enough fire-power to unsettle any bowling attacks in IPL 2021. It will be a nightmare for other teams if the opening pair of David Warner and Jason Roy starts firing at the top. They also have Jonny Bairstow who has been incredible form in the recently concluded white ball series against India. The think tank will have good headaches selecting the playing XI as they cannot play both Jonny Bairstow and Kane Williamson. The bowling attack also looks well balanced with India seamers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan in tremendous form in recent time. The spin department will be spearheaded by Rashid Khan who has proven his worth as a match winner.

Weakness:

The biggest weakness for SRH side this season is their middle order. Barring New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey, they lack the experience. They do boasts of some young blood like Abdul Samad, Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma who showed enough promise last season. The franchise also brought Kedar Jadhav this season trying to strengthen their middle order but one has doubts about how crucial role he can play in the middle.

Key players:

David Warner, Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan
