Xtra Time Web Desk: A superb fifty from Shubman Gill saw Kolkata Knight Riders’ beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 6 wickets at the Dubai International Stadium to move a step closer to the Play Offs. The Knight Riders stay in 4the spot with 12 points with one match remaining in league stage. If KKR win their last game with a better run-rate then they will make their case stronger for the playoff qualification.

Chasing the target of 116 runs, KKR lost two wickets early but later a 55-run stand between opener Shubman Gill (57) and Nitish Rana (25) consolidated the Knight Riders run chase. Gill went on to score his first fifty of this season. Veteran Dinesh Karthik (18 off 12) played a useful cameo towards the end to take his team home with two balls to spare.

For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Jason Holder was once again the top-performer with the ball with his two top-order wickets, apart from him leg-spinner Rashid Khan and pacer Siddarth Kaul got one wicket each.

Earlier, a splendid bowling performance from the KKR bowlers saw them restrict SRH to 115/8. None of the SRH batsmen got going against a disciplined bowling from the Knights. SRH Captain Kane Williamson scored 25 off 21 balls while Priyam Garg (21) and Abdul Samad (25) made useful contributions.

Tim Southee (2/26), Sivam Mavi (2/29) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/26) chipped in with two wickets.
