IPL 2021: Growing concerns with Chennai Super Kings opening game against DC for this reason

Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes as a big concern for BCCI and IPL authorities, 8 ground staffs at Wankhede stadium have tested positive for coronavirus, just few days ahead of the Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals fixture of IPL 2021. The Wankhede stadium is scheduled to host 10 league games of IPL 2021 from April 10 to 25.

As per reports in Insidesport all the ground staffs have been isolated. 19 ground staffs at the Wankhede Stadium underwent RT-PCR tests over the last week. While three were confirmed to have contracted the virus during the tests conducted on March 26, five more reports from the tests conducted on April 1 returned positive on Friday.

The development comes barely a week before the IPL 2021 is scheduled to begin with defending champion Mumbai Indians scheduled to take on Royal Challangers Bangalore in Chennai on April 9.
