Xtra Time Web Desk: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) displayed a clinical performance as they outplayed a power packed Royal Challengers Bangalore side by 9 wickets in IPL 2021 second leg match in Abu Dhabi on Monday. The win took Eoin Morgan’s side to fifth in points table while RCB stay at No 3.

Showing serious intent after their mediocre outing in the first phase of the league earlier this year, the Knight Riders bowlers fired in unison to bundle out RCB for a paltry 92. Chasing a paltry 93 runs to win, openers Shubman Gill (34 ball 48) and debutant Venkatesh Iyer (41 off 27 balls) made light work of the chase, completing the formality with as many as 10 overs to spare.

Earlier, RCB skipper Virat Kohli who decided to step down after this edition of IPL won the toss and opted to bat first. But KKR’s mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy (3/13) and Andre Russell (3/9) wrecked havoc in RCB innings as they were bundled out for only 92 runs. Devdutt Padikkal was the top scorer with 22 runs. Kohli playing his 200th game for RCB was the first to be dismissed as he was adjudged leg before to Prasidh Krishna for only 5. AB de Villiers were bowled for a golden duck by Russell as the Jamaican hurled a perfect yorker that rattled the leg stump. Glenn Maxwell also did not put up any resistance as he was bowled by Chakravarthy.
