Xtratime Web Desk : In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) 14 th edition Chennai Super KIngs has came back to form after their first match loss versus Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals. Dhoni’s men struggled in the 2020 IPL as their batsmen failed to hit form with the bat barring one or two of them. Young Ruturaj Gaikwad made his debut in the last season for Chennai Super Kings. After struggling initially he came good with the bat in the later half of the tournament.

In the ongoing IPL tournament he has failed to score runs as well. In the 3 innings he batted he registered a score of 5,5,10 at an averadge of 6.67 runs. Figures are very much disappointing for the young opening batsman. In the 13th IPL edition held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Gaikwad was in scintillating form as the right-hander scored 204 runs in the 6 innings that he played, and scored his runs at an average of 51.00.

Stephen Fleming stood beside the young opener as he said “Ya, Robin Uthappa is waiting. But Ruturaj Gaikwad earned a bit of time with the way he played last season. You know our philosophy. We give players a good amount of chances in what they are trying to do. We will continue to back him. Then see and make a decision soon. At the moment, we are backing a good young player.”
