Xtra Time Web Desk: Kings XI Punjab batsman Mandeep Singh who played a match winning knock of 66* against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday recalled what his late father used to say to him. Mandeep lost his father on Saturday but continued to play on for KXIP despite the enormous personal loss. He was seeing celebrating his fifty against KKR with his bat raised towards sky in remembrance of his late father.

Recalling what his father used to say, Mandeep said, “This was very special. My father always used to tell me to remain not out in every game, definitely special. He always used to tell me, whether you score 100 or 200, you should be not out.”

Mandeep, whose father died Friday, put the personal tragedy behind him and scored an unbeaten 66 off 56 balls to guide his team home with 8 wickets to spare.
