Xtra Time Web Desk: Wriddhiman Saha made full use of the opportunity as he scored a blazing 87(45) knock to help Sunrisers Hyderabad register a huge 88 runs win in Match 47 of IPL 2020 at Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday. Saha got full support from his captain David Warner who scored 66 off 34 balls. The duo put together 107 runs for the first wicket to set the platform for a huge total. During his knock Wriddhiman hit 12 boundaries and 2 sixes. Riding on their batting display Sunrisers Hyderabad put on a daunting total of 219/2.

Delhi Capitals never looked to be in the hunt for chasing the target as they kept losing wickets. Rishabh Pant was the top scorer for DC with 36 runs. Rashid Khan was the pick of the SRH bowlers picking 3 wickets for 7 runs.

The win kept the Hyderabad outfit, which has five wins in 12 matches, alive in the tournament. It has games against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) left, and can end with a maximum of 14 points at the end of the group stage.

Meanwhile, Delhi slumped to a third straight defeat in the competition, following losses to Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders. It can still finish in the top two with 18 points, and has to face MI and RCB in its last two outings.

David Warner, who celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, was quite ecstatic after the win. According to the SRH captain, “The game before, very disappointed with that chase. Tonight, as I said at the toss, I was looking to bat first. Losing the toss I wasn’t disappointed. We had to take their fast bowlers on. I’ve decided to go back to 2009 and open the front leg a little bit and clear these grounds. It was a very tough call with Bairstow, with Jase playing as well as he has. We felt that inclusion of Kane at 4 would work out. What a knock by Wriddhi. His strike rate in the powerplay is incredible. Unfortunately he’s got a bit of a niggle in the groin. Rashid seems to have the knack for taking wickets and not going for the runs. Two games in Sharjah to go. If we can get 220 on the board here, who knows what we can get there.”

Losing captain Shreyas Iyer said,”Definitely a big loss, but you can’t get bogged down at this point of time. We still have two games. One win is all we need – we’ve been waiting for that since the last three games. This loss is definitely going to motivate us.”
