IPL 2020: Ravi Shastri wants AB de Villiers to rethink about his retirement

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India head coach Ravi Shastri has urged former South African batsmen AB de Villiers to come out of retirement. De Villiers had retired from international cricket in 2018. But the former Proteas cricketer is nowhere near losing his class as he once again gave enough evidence of it during Match 28 of the ongoing IPL 2020. Mr 360 degree played an absolute stunning knock (73 off 33) against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. His whirlwind knock was studded with five hits to the fence and 6 towering sixes, two of which landed in the adjacent street.

Team India Head Coach Ravi Shastri joined a common chorus, urging AB de Villiers to rethink about his retirement decision and once again come back to mainstream cricket. Shastri took to his social networking site twitter on Tuesday to plead AB to come out of retirement after watching his innings on Monday night.

Shastri tweeted,  “Now, that the penny has dropped. What one saw last night was unreal. And the feeling is the same waking up. AB de Villiers, the game in these trying times or otherwise needs you back in the international arena and out of retirement. The game will be better off.”

The former Proteas skipper played 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20Is for the national side before his retirement in 2018. The RCB batsman has been in great form in the ongoing IPL, having so far scored 228 runs in seven matches for the RCB.
