Xtra Time Web Desk: Veteran spinner Pravin Tambe got rewarded for his performances in the recently concluded Caribbean Premier League (CPL T20) for Trinbago Knight Riders. The 48 year old Tambe was added to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) support staffs by the management on popular demand according to CEO Venky Mysore in an instagram live on Saturday.
Tambe was picked by KKR in the IPL auction held in December in Kolkata for a base price of INR 20 lakhs. However, he was later disqualified to take part in IPL as he had already played in the T10 League back in November 2018. As per the guidelines set by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), a male cricketer can’t play foreign leagues before officially announcing retirement.

The veteran turned out for the Trinbago Knight Riders (KKR), becoming the first Indian cricketer to take part in the CPL T20. He impressed everyone with his bowling and with his fielding as well. He took a brilliant catch in the outfield.

Although Tambe won’t be able to take the field for KKR but he can definitely share his inputs to the spinners in the Knights camp. The Knight Riders will take on Mumbai Indians in their first match of IPL 2020 at Zayed Stadium on September 23.
