XtraTime Web Desk: Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Devdutt Padikkal can do nothing wrong in the ongoing IPL 2020. The talented youngster from Karnataka produced an outstanding effort on the field to dismiss Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer at the Dubai International Stadium on Monday. Padikkal did a Faf du Plessis as he showed tremendous presence of mind to grab the catch after juggling it back as he stepped over the ropes.
The ongoing cash rich league has already witnessed several such catches with Chennai Super Kings Faf Du Plessis taking a stunner on Friday night against Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH Captain David Warner tonked a flighted delivery from CSK leg spinner Piyush Chawla. The ball seemed to be flying over the ropes but Du Plessis timed his jump to perfection. He grabbed the ball out of thin air but as the momentum was taking him over the boundary, he threw the ball in the air just to catch it in the rebound.

The RCB youngster has taken the tournament by storm with his batting. After managing only 11 runs from the first 12 balls he faced, Iyer went for a big shot off Moeen Ali. The England all rounder had bowled a flighted delivery around the off stump, inviting the batsman to go for the big shot towards deep mid-wicket. At first instance, it looked like Iyer’s shot would cross the boundary easily. However, Devdutt Padikkal had other ideas.
Before the ball could cross the ropes, the RCB teenager caught the ball inches away from the boundary before throwing the ball in the air as the momentum took him outside the field of play. He then returned to the field in time and completed the sensational catch.
