XtraTime Web Desk: Indian cricket’s young sensation Shubman Gill has been scoring runs at the top for Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing IPL 2020. He has scored 152 runs in 5 matches so far and in that he has a half century as well. Kolkata Knight Riders management has been backing their youngsters since 2018 and now all their young guns are playing well. Shubman feels that after spending a lot of time together with experienced cricketers, KKR have become a family. “I think we are having a great experience that we are able to spend time with the teammates for past couple of years and that’s a great experience for all of us,” said Shubman before the game.
On being asked what drives him to play well in the middle for the country and the franchise, Shubman said,”I think to be able to play for my country drives me enough to play well and apart from that I just want to inspire the people as well,” added Shubman.
It’s pretty tough for the players to stay in the bio-bubble as they are totally detached with the outside world, but as per Shubman when players are staying in the bubble for a long period o time, it becomes a habit for them. “It’s a bit difficult to be able to go from your room to the ground and back and forth, but once you get a habit of it then its fine,” said Shubman.
Shubman is confident to carry his good form against CSK in this game and help his side to get back in the winning ways.”Except for the first match, we have been playing well as a team and some great brand of cricket. I have been scoring runs and hopefully I can score in this match as well, try to continue my good form and win this match as well.”
