IPL 2020: Fans speculate RCB vs KKR opener after countdown post, CSK likely to face MI on Sep 19

XtraTime Web Desk: The schedule of the 13th Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) will finally get released on Sunday, confirmed IPL Governing Council Chairman Brijesh Patel on Saturday to ANI. It is learnt reigning champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will be facing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the opener on September 19 at Abu Dhabi. There was a lot of speculations whether MS Dhoni led CSK will play the opener or not after the outbreak of the COVID-19 cases in the Chennai camp. As many as 13 members including two players tested positive, delaying the team’s practice session. The Yellow Army finally hit the nets on Friday after the remaining members tested negative on Thursday.

However the official Twitter account of the tournament made a countdown post. In the picture attached, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Dinesh Karthik and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli are featured. This led to a lot of speculation amongst the fans. The post read, “2 weeks until the #Dream11IPL extravaganza! CAN. NOT. WAIT!,”

The 13th edition of the IPL will begin from September 19 and the final will be played on November 10. The 53 days tournament will be played across three venues in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
