IPL 2020: Deepak Chahar tests COVID-19 negative, raise hopes of playing CSK’s opener against Mumbai Indians

XtraTime Web Desk: Chennai Super Kings bowler Deepak Chahar on Wednesday tested negative in the first mandatory Covid-19 test. Following his tests coming negative, Chahar can now shift back to team hotel for quarantine facility. He will still have to undergo a cardiovascular test and if the results come negative, he will be allowed to join the training session. The entire process will take another 3-4 days.

With Chahar getting well, the CSK management will feel a lot relieved as the franchise do not boast of a strong bowling attack. The Chennai Super Kings bowling options are Shane Watson (hardly bowl now a days), Lungi Ngidi, Shardul Thakur, KM Asif and Monu Kumar.

MS Dhoni led franchise will take on the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the first match of IPL 2020 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) will start from September 19 and the final will be played on November 10 in Dubai. The matches will be played across three venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
