IPL 2019: Ravi Ashwin & Ajinkya Rahane opens up on the controversial ‘run out’ of Jos Buttler

XtraTime Web Desk: Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler was ran out by Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin while he was out of the non strikers crease during Ashwin’s over. Though Ashwin didn’t warn him before breaking the stumps. Cricketers like Dean Jones, Michael Vaughan, Dale Steyn tweeted after the dismissal by showing their anger. Most of the cricket fanatics said it’s against the spirit of the game and this was the first time in the history of IPL a batsman was ‘mankaded’.

Rajasthan skipper Ajinkya  Rahane said, “We are not supposed to comment on a controversial issue. The match referee will take the call. We will take the decision sportingly.”

Though Rajasthan coach Paddy Apton said, “The spectators are there they will decide whether it was the right thing done by Ashwin.”

Buttler was run-out in similar fashion during a series-deciding ODI against Sri Lanka at Edgbaston in 2014.

Ashwin said, “It was not intentional. Not planned. I don’t know why the spirit of the game comes in. It’s in the rule of the game.”
