IPL 2018: Sunil Narine’s all-round show against RCB hands KKR an easy win in the opener

Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in their opening fixture at Kolkata. Knights look comfortable at the start of the second innings but RCB came back strongly in the mid overs. At last the home side won by 4 wickets with seven balls to spare.

Bangalore posted a competitive total of 176. Opener Brendon Mccullum scored 43 runs. Later De Villiers scored 44 runs and Mandeep managed to add 37 runs in the score. KKR bowlers Vinay Kumer and Nitish Rana bagged two wickets each while Narine, Johnson and Chawla got one wicket each.

In reply ‘opener’ Sunil Narine again haunted the Challengers with his fifty in 18 balls. Umesh Jadav took his wicket. Chris Lynn and Vice Captain Robin Uthappa both failed carry the momentum I the same way. Nitish Rana and Skipper Dinesh Karthik managed to score some runs to take KKR over the line.

Undoubtedly, Sunil Narine declared as the Man of the Match for his fifty with the bat. It was great to see Umesh as his short ball hit on the helmet of Nitesh Rana.
