Xtra Time Web Desk: The first female twins to scale Mt. Everest Nungshi & Tashi Malik need no introduction. The passionate twin sisters had a chance to meet the Rajasthan Royals cricketers, who came and shared their experiences and learnings with the team. It was a great session with some gripping stories shared by twin sisters that did gave goosebumps to one and all. They shared with the team how it took them couple of years at first to convince their parents that the two of them wanted to climb the Mt. Everest. Finally, when the parents got convinced, they had many challenges ahead of them before they finally went on to climb the mountains. Their father has almost given up his life savings to fulfil the dream of his daughters.  Speaking about it, Nungshi Mailk said, “We told ourselves that if we do something, we will do something so big that it can inspire millions of girls to come out and follow their dreams.”

Adding to what it was like preparing your mind and body together for the challenges that lies ahead, Tashi Malik said, “Training the mind is definitely very hard, but that’s what you go to do in order to tell yourselves again and again that Never Give Up.” This is exactly what resonates with the brand value of Royals.

Success makes one humble and staying true to this the twin sisters decided to give something back to the people by starting ‘NungshiTashi Foundation’ with the twin objectives of promoting Outdoors Leadership and women empowerment through Outdoor sports.

Nicknamed as “Everest Twins” Tashi & Nungshi, the remarkable girls from Northern India braved all odds prevalent in the conservative Indian rural culture viz., gender discrimination, and girl’s education and scaled Everest at the mere age of 21 years.
