The crucial Day 4 began on a positive note for India as openers Rohit Sharma (55) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (37) aggressively accumulated runs. Rohit Sharma’s authoritative half-century set the tempo for the game. However, England fought back valiantly, with Joe Root making an early breakthrough by dismissing Yashasvi.

However, India found a ray of hope when Dhruv Jurel took to the crease. The youngster exhibited confidence and skill, forming a crucial partnership with Gill. Together, they not only weathered the storm but also registered a 72-run stand, keeping the scoreboard ticking.

With Gill anchoring the innings, the pressure mounted on England. Despite some tense moments, the duo of Gill and Jurel successfully fended off the English charge, securing a comfortable win for the hosts. The triumph showcased India’s depth and resilience, maintaining their stronghold in Test cricket on home turf.
