Xtra Time Web Desk: Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu bowed out of the first round of the Indonesian Open Super 1000 event on Tuesday. Sindhu lost to China’s He Bingjiao by 14-21, 18-21. In the men’s singles Sai Praneeth also lost his opening round encounter to Hans-Kristian Vittinghus of Denmark in straight games 16-21, 19-21

Sindhu has managed to secure two Super 300 titles this year – Syed Modi International and Swiss Open. But she has looked vulnerable against top players, facing defeats at the hands of Thailand’s Ratchanok Inthanon, China’s Chen Yu Fei and Korea’s An Se Young.

Saina Nehwal, who is trying to make a comeback after battling multiple fitness issues in the last few months, will skip this event as she plans to compete at the Malaysia Open next week.
