Xtra Time Web Desk : Team India on Wednesday got a new hero as youngster Ravi Bishnoi bowled brilliantly with figures of 2/17 on his debut to help his team seal a comfortable 6 wicket win over West Indies in the 1st T20I of the series.
And after the match Ravi’s father Mangilal Bishnoi, opened up in an emotional fashion, as he saw his son making a blockbuster entry in the international arena.
“It was such a wonderful night and to see my son in an India jersey was a very proud moment,” said Mangilal in an interview to the Times of India.
Recollecting the past events, the senior Bishnoi further added, “He was doing poorly at school and I used to get calls from teachers complaining about his performance. I tried hard to convince him to focus on studies, but it was he and his coaches, Pradyot Singh Rathore and Shahrukh Pathan, who eventually ended up convincing me to let him play the sport. I am glad, I let him follow his passion.”
