Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes as a big news for Indian fans, Hardik Pandya has been named as the captain of the Indian T20 squad for the upcoming tour to Ireland. The All-India Senior Selection Committee on Wednesday has picked a 17-member squad for the T20I series against Ireland. Team India will play two T20Is on June 26th and 28th in Dublin.
Hardik Pandya will lead the white-ball squad in Ireland as Rishabh Pant, who is currently leading the T20 side, will join the Indian Test squad in UK only after the South Africa series.
Suryakumar Yadav has been included in the T20 squad as he has recovered from his injury. The selectors have also included Sanju Samson who unfortunately missed out for the ongoing series against South Africa. Rahul Tripathi too is rewarded for his good show in the recently concluded IPL 2022.

In another development, KL Rahul is all set to miss the ‘fifth’ Test against England in Birmingham next month as he is unlikely to recover from a groin injury that forced him out of the ongoing T20I series against South Africa.
