India to host Australia for T20I series ahead of T20 WC; test team to tour India next year in February

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Australian team will be touring India later this year in September to play a three match T20I series. The series will be played ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022 Down Under. The Aussie test squad will return back next year for the four match test series as part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in February-March 2023

The 4-match series is part of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 cycle and it could well determine who pulls ahead in the race to make it to the finals of the WTC. India currently holds the Border-Gavaskar Trophy following a stunning 2-1 series victory back in January 2021.

The Aussies will definitely have revenge on their minds when they tour India for the test series next year. Pat Cummins led side are currently ranked No.1 and are on top of the WTC points table with a winning percentage of 75. They have registered 5 wins and 3 draws so far in the WTC cycle.

India is in the 3rd spot with 6 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws in a total of 11 matches – a points percentage of 58.33.
