Kolkata: In their last four ODI series on home soil against Australia, the Men in Blue had won two and lost two series. Steve Smith led Australian cricket team is currently in India to play 5-match ODI series and a 3-match T-20 series. According to India’s pace spearhead Mohammed Shami, the Aussies are pretty good limited overs side and their Test series loss against India earlier in January and their recent poor show against Bangladesh won’t affect the visitors much.

“I don’t think their loss against us earlier in January that much would affect them much, they are a very good side and it would be a good ODI series. We are playing very good cricket for last couple of years and if we can continue that momentum, we have the brighter chance to win the series,” said Shami while talking to the media.

On being asked whether they can do a whitewash against the Aussies, the Bengal pacer added,”I cannot comment on that ahead of the start of the start of the series, but if we could play the series with our potential it would be pretty easy for us to win the series.”

Aussie skipper Steve Smith and opener David Warner had always performed well against India. The pace maestro has some special plans against these two players.”We have a special plan against these two batsmen and the team management has also talked about it with us, but I cannot disclose anything in front of the media as it will help our opponents,” said Shami.

Shami was not the part of the limited overs squad in Sri Lanka as the selectors decided to give him a break to keep him fit. Shami looked charged up after a much needed break as according to him it would help him to bowl well against Australia.

“The selectors had given me a break after the Test series and it has really helped me to gather more strength ahead of the Australia series. I am fully fit right now and want to help my side with my bowling against the mighty Aussies,” concluded Shami.
