ICC WTC Final: Selectors to pick 22 members squad for summit clash vs New Zealand

Xtra Time Web Desk: The national selection committee headed by Chetan Sharma will pick a 22 member squad for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship during the third week of May. The much awaited marquee event will go ahead despite COVID-19 surge in India. According to a report in Inside Sport, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked the selection committee to submit a 22-24 member squad by the third week of May. The same squad will also feature in the five match test series against England.

According to the information available, selection committee already has submitted list of 35 probables for the tour to BCCI. The selectors in next few weeks will prune the list to 22-24 member and in meanwhile the board will complete the logistics & travel arrangements for the probable list submitted by the selectors.

The World Test Championship final will take place between India and New Zealand at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton from June 18-22.
