I am a big fan of Jasprit Bumrah: Glenn McGrath

Debasis Sen, Sydney: Australian pace legend Glenn McGrath on Wednesday admitted he is a huge fan of Jasprit Bumrah. McGrath, who was at the Sydney Cricket Ground to promote the 11th edition of Pink Day Test said, “I am a big fan of Jasprit Bumrah the way he goes about his business.”

The former Aussie pacer is very impressed with the show put up by Virat Kohli and his boys in the series so far.
“I am very impressed withVirat Kohli and the Indian team. This Indian side is a quality unit but our boys have fought well in the series.”

Speaking ahead of the Pink Test that raises funds for the McGrath Foundation, the former cricketer turned commentator offered a far more positive appraisal for Tim Paine and his team.

“I still have a lot of confidence in the boys,” said McGrath.
He has also backed Australia’s under-siege attack to fire in the fourth Test, describing Mitchell Starc as “one of the most dangerous bowlers” in world cricket when he is swinging the new ball.

“Josh Hazlewood, you know what you are getting. Day in and day out.
“Cummo (Pat Cummins) just seems to get better and better … and Starc is the x-factor. If he is swinging the new ball, he’s one of the most dangerous bowlers in world cricket.

“When those guys all hit their straps, that’s as good a bowling attack as anywhere in world cricket.”

McGrath was also full of praise for Nathan Lyon, likening the offspinner’s confidence and attitude to that of Warne.
“He knows his game so well … he goes out there expecting to take wickets on any pitch in any conditions,” McGrath said.

“Warney felt he could take wickets anywhere at anytime, you need that confidence if you are to be successful.
“He’s a big member of the bowling unit and the other three guys are exceptional as well. Australia is lucky to have them,” signed off McGrath.
