Internet Desk: India continued its dominance after Day 2 of the second test match against Sri Lanka at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Jamtha on Saturday. Riding on the twin centuries from Cheteshwar Pujara (121*) and Murali Vijay (128), the hosts are on the verge of piling a huge first innings total. At stumps on Day 2, India has scored 312/2 with Pujara batting on 121 runs along with Virat Kohli (54*).

Pujara is having a golden run this season as he notched up his 14th test ton along with scoring 1000 runs in a calendar year. Vijay made a memorable return to test cricket as he registered his 10th Test ton before falling to Rangana Herath in the final session of play. The Tamil Nadu batsman gifted his wicket to the veteran left-arm spinner after mistiming his sweep on a full toss to short fine leg where Dilruwan Perera made no mistake.

Perera had earlier dropped Vijay on 61 at short mid-on off paceman Lahiru Gamage.

Both Vijay and Pujara put together partnership of 209 runs for the third wicket. It was the fifth century stand for the pair in their last seven test together.

Vijay, who replaced Shikhar Dhawan hit 11 fours and a six during his 221-ball knock. Pujara on the other hand played the sheet anchor’s role to perfection scoring his 14th Test century.

He also combined with Kohli for an unbeaten 96-run stand, forcing skipper Dinesh Chandimal to continue juggling his bowling options till the end of day.

Indian captain too joined the run feast as he blazed his way to a 66 ball half-century. Kohli smashed six boundaries in his knock of 54 runs so far.
