“Happy Birthday skip”: Virat Kohli lead wishes for MS Dhoni as ‘Captain cool’ turns 40

Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian captain Virat Kohli led others in wishing former Indian skipper MS Dhoni who turned 40 years old on Wednesday. Wishes have been pouring in from all around for Dhoni who is regarded as one of the most successful captains to have led the country. Kohli, who made his international debut under Dhoni, wished him by tweeting, “Happy birthday skip … @msdhoni”

Dhoni made his debut for India in December 2004 against Bangladesh. He retired from international cricket on August 15, 2020. He played 90 tests, 350 ODIs and 98 T20Is for the country. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, India lifted all the three ICC Trophies – inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007, 50 overs World Cup in India in 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy in England in 2013. Under Dhoni, India also rose to the top of Test rankings and won the Test mace. He led CSK to title win thrice as well.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) paid tribute to Dhoni with a video that shows few of his best captaincy moments and performance with the bat.
