“Good People finish first too”: Sourav Ganguly lauds Ajinkya Rahane for memorable win at MCG

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly lauded Ajinkya Rahane led Indian team for their memorable win against Australia in the 2nd test match at MCG on Tuesday.

Xtra Time Web Desk: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly on Tuesday lauded stand in test captain Ajinkya Rahane and his team for pulling off a memorable win over Australia in the 2nd test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Indian team displayed tremendous character and determination to bounce back in the series after the embarrassing loss in Adelaide Oval.

Ganguly took to Twitter to congratulate the team for their performance in Melbourne. Ganguly also highlighted India’s other star performers in the match – Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

“A special win at MCG ..india loves playing here ..well done Ajinkya rahane @ajinkyarahane88 ..good people finish first too.. congratulations to all.. @imjadeja @ashwinravi99. best of luck for the next 2 games,” he tweeted.

India beat Australia by eight wickets at Melbourne Cricket Ground  to level the four test series at 1-1. Ajinkya Rahane played a captains knock, scoring his 12th test century which paved the way for the convincing win. Debutants Shubman Gill (45 in first innings) and Mohammed Siraj (5 wickets in the match) were the highlights of the match. Other key performers for India included Ravindra Jadeja (valiant 57 in first innings) along with Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin.

With the series leveled at 1-1 both teams will meet each other for the third test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground starting January 07.
